Amanda Knowles is the new Executive Director for the Heritage at Lowman. Prior to her time at the Heritage at Lowman, Amanda spent her early career in hospice as a community liaison in the upstate of South Carolina followed by service as an administrator in facilities providing skilled, assisted, and independent living services in South Carolina.
Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree from Limestone University, is a member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators, and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She is dually licensed as a community residential care facility administrator and licensed nursing home administrator.
Amanda resides in Chapin, South Carolina with her husband Reverend Fred Knowles where they love to spend time outdoors and on the lake. They also enjoy visiting with their son and daughter-in-law in Charleston.
The Heritage at Lowman is pleased to have Beth Johnson serve as Director of Nursing.
Lynn has been in nursing for nearly 40 years with 11 years dedicated to the ministry at The Heritage at Lowman. During her career, she worked in progressive care, medical telemetry, insurance, and physician office practice. She enjoys the opportunity to contribute and make a difference in the residents’ lives.
Lynn enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
Christian McKenzie joined our team as Director of Human Resources in early 2023. She received her undergraduate degree from College of Charleston and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management & Development from Webster University. Christian hopes that our employees see her as a supportive leader aims to implement positive changes that help harness the full power of our most valuable assets- our people.
In her free time, Christian enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
The Heritage at Lowman is pleased to have Rowena Tuttle serve as Business Office Manager.
Kelsey joined Rice Estate in 2017 starting as the Human Resources Director and transitioned to the Admissions Director. In 2023 she was promoted to the Director, Centralized Admission Center for Lutheran Homes of South Carolina. Kelsey began her career in Healthcare as an admissions director for a skilled nursing facility and also worked in human resources.
Originally from Cleveland Ohio, she has always referred to Columbia, SC as her home. Kelsey enjoys going to concerts, traveling, football games, and spending time with friends and family. There are few things in life that make Kelsey happier than her job and a Carolina Panthers win. Kelsey believes that happy TeamMates lead to happy Priorities and this is her everyday goal.

Beth McLean joined Lutheran Homes of South Carolina in 2013 as part of the Midland's Lutheran Hospice team. After the birth of her first child in 2017, Beth transitioned to the Heritage at Lowman team as the Independent Living Lifestyle Coordinator and now serves as the campus Community Outreach Director.
Beth graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree in History with a Minor in Business Law from Western Carolina University in 2008 and a Master of Public Health Leadership from UNC-Chapel Hill. In her free time, Beth enjoys traveling up to the mountains of North Carolina, reading, and being a "boy-mom".
Bruce Smith joined the Heritage at Lowman Social Services team in mid 2022. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social work from Benedict in 2006. Following college graduation, he served for 6 years as a Corrections Officer at the Department of Juvenile Justice prior to beginning his experience with adult/senior care services with Adult Protective Services with Department of Social Services. Over the past 16 years, Bruce has been serving in both part-time and full-time capacities in group homes for disabled & special needs adults.
Bruce shares, "I am a person of faith- I serve in my church choir and volunteer in our church prison ministry. During my spare time, I enjoy reading self-help books, listening to music, writing & performing poetry. ...My greatest gift, joy, and love is being a father to my two sons and soon-to-be husband to my fiancee."
Babbi Bowers, LBSW joined the Heritage at Lowman Social Services team in 2024. She brings over 40 years of healthcare experience working with older adults and their families.
In her free-time, Babbi enjoys spending time with her 5 fur-babies (dogs), gardening, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers.
Shante E. Hicks joined The Heritage of Lowman Home in July 2024 as the Certified Dietary Manager.
Shante holds an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu in Atlanta, Georgia. She also attended The University of North Dakota where she obtained credited hours for Nutrition & Food Service Professionals.
She currently resides in Lynchburg, South Carolina where she loves spending time with her son. In her free-time, Shante enjoys cooking, traveling & trying different cuisines. Her favorite bible verse is Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
Caitie Harlan joined the Heritage at Lowman Team as Director of Active Lifestyle in August 2024. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and comes with an extensive background in senior living & elder care. She resides in Lexington, SC with her husband & two daughters. In her free time, Caitie enjoys traveling, live music, and spending time with her cats.
Crystal Fleming joined the Heritage at Lowman Team in 2024. She is a NCCAP-certified professional with over ten years of Life Enrichment experience and is also a proud member of the South Carolina Activity Professional Association. Crystal utilizes her life coaching skills to further encompass the values of life enrichment in order to bring purpose, joy and creativity to our residents.
Crystal and her young family reside in Eastover, SC and enjoy music, reading & tending to their six chickens.
Danielle Trykowski was promoted to Life Enrichment Coordinator at the Heritage at Lowman in 2023 after serving on the Life Enrichment team in our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation building for six months. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University. Since graduating from college, Danielle has been immersed in the Activity and Entertainment field. Pre-pandemic, she worked as an Activity Hostess for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Ltd.
Danielle is currently engaged to be married and enjoys spending time with family & friends including her dog & four cats, crocheting, and traveling.

David has been with The Heritage at Lowman since 2017. He previously worked here in 2012-2013. David is married, lives in Chapin and has two boys who are in the U.S. military (one in the 82nd Airborne Division and the other with the Apache helicopter group here in Columbia), two step-children and 3 grandchildren.
He enjoys family time, working outside at his farm in Newberry, and spending time with his dogs, goats and the watching the many different types of wildlife residing there.
During his career, David has spent numerous years in the electrical construction, manufacturing and engineering fields.
Amy Binger joined the Heritage at Lowman Team as Director of Environmental Services in August 2024. She brings over 15 years of experience in Environmental Services and looks forward to supporting our residents, staff, & guests by providing a clean, safe, and pleasing environment.
Amy has lived in Alaska, Virginia, and Colorado, but currently enjoys life in South Carolina with her husband, Robert, and sheltie, Briggs. In her free-time, she enjoys antiquing, traveling, and drinking coffee.
The Rev. Sue Johnson joined the Heritage at Lowman team in 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a Commercial/Graphic emphasis from the University of Minnesota – Duluth, an IT Certification from the University of MN, and a Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. Her ministry career is paralleled with experiences in accounting, database and web development, art and hospitality.
Sue loves God; the gift of travel, being in nature, creative arts & yoga. She calls Minnesota home and has two adult daughters.
